| Home Pool/Water Safety Checks | Families frequenting pools should keep important safety facts in mind. Children can drown in only one inch of water. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under five in Florida, and the second leading cause for children under 14. Drowning is often called “the silent killer,” with little or no sound for help. | Provided with swim Lee during August & September. Call 239-267-7525. |
| Child Passenger Safety Seat Installation | Receive one-on-one personalized instructions on how to properly use your child’s car seat from a nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Installations are by appointment only. | By appointment only at facility. Free of charge. Call 239-267-7525. |
| Step Smart | Falls are a serious problem in Lee County. In 2007, 144 people died from falls. The county’s death rate from falls is more than double the state average. Yet falls are preventable. This program provides education on how falls can be prevented, including home improvements and lifestyle changes that can reduce injuries and deaths in our community. | Conducted on-site or at facility. Free of charge. |
