The Lieutenant is responsible for first-line supervision over assigned personnel at fire station, and is in command at the scene of all emergency and non-emergency incidents until relieved by a superior officer. Responsibilities include directing and participating in controlling and extinguishing fires to protect life and property; ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures; equipment and facilities maintenance and repair; preparation and maintenance of required reports, and proper deployment of equipment and personnel at incident scene and fire stations.
